Good Times A-Bruin

Haven't heard all the details yet, but apparently The Philosophress liked what she heard at UCLA today. All these places sound pretty top-notch, and the more contact she has with these schools, the better the final decision will be.

It's good to have such amazing feedback as life continues to kick us around a fair amount of the time. Finally (finally!) it's beginning to get to the point where the good days are just often enough to keep us afloat during the times when life circumstances conspire and snowball to epic proportions.

Funny that we talk about snowballs, what with the weather being 80 degrees here this weekend. Although sunshine isn't much fun when there's not really anyone else close enough to share it with. If we stay in SoCal (either in OC or up in LA), that will be the most significant long-term hurdle we'll have to face: how to actually meet people, and after that, how to meet quality people. I must admit, I'm not all that confident in my abilities to establish new friendships and find common ground -- I don't know too many people who know how to relate to someone who feels like he just spend the last two years getting bounced around in a clothes dryer.

That reminds me, where are our cats?

You just need to find someone who feels like they've spent the last two years getting spun in a clothes washer!! Then you'll have the complete set.

By the way:
Did you at least use a dryer sheet?

We'll be happy to trade some of our 18" of snow for a few of those extra degrees - especially since we are now all the way up to a whopping 5 (yes, 5) degrees - and that ain't Celsius!
